Filing for bankruptcy is not simply filling out some forms. Legal knowledge, strategy and attention to detail are critical. In four decades of focused practice in this area of the law, I have seen dozens of individuals try to file their own bankruptcies with disastrous results. You need legal help, and not just the cheapest attorney or the first name you find online.
My name is Ross Wabeke. I have handled Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies for more than 40 years. Based in Loveland, my bankruptcy practice serves consumers and small businesses in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Longmont, Berthoud and all communities of Weld, Larimer and Boulder counties.
Why Choose Me to Handle Your Bankruptcy?
BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING ELSE, I WILL BE HONEST IN TELLING YOU THAT I HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE EXPERIENCE THAN ANY BANKRUPTCY ATTORNEY IN NORTHERN COLORADO. I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY HANDLED MORE CHAPTER 7 CASES FROM FILING TO DISCHARGE AND CHAPTER 13 CASES FROM FILING TO PLAN COMPLETION. BUT BEYOND HAVING THAT LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE I CAN TELL YOU THAT I GENUINELY CARE ABOUT MY CLIENTS AND WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH AND DO MY UTMOST TO SHOW THAT.
Filing for bankruptcy is a big step, a last resort to avoid home foreclosure or financial ruin. If done correctly, bankruptcy will provide a fresh start and an end to your debt nightmare.
I have practiced bankruptcy law for 40-plus years. I have dealt with every scenario, every complication, every nuance of the law. In my 40 years of practice I have taken cases from the US Bankruptcy Court to the US District Court to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and even to the US Supreme Court. I have been the lead attorney in cases that set national precedent. I know that all of that sounds like big stuff and maybe it was at the time, but what I really get satisfaction from more than anything else is in representing normal, ordinary people who run into financial issues and stress.
I am a former bankruptcy trustee. The trustee is the main adversary in your bankruptcy case. The trustee decides what assets you keep, what exemptions to allow, what your monthly payments will be in a Chapter 13 case, etc. From those 16 years on the other side of bankruptcy cases, I can anticipate the trustee's objections and where the trustee will draw the line.
My rates are very competitive, if not the lowest. Beware of attorneys who say they can handle your bankruptcy for less. You get what you pay for.
I know bankruptcy law. A quality attorney should be able to answer any bankruptcy question. If the lawyer says, "I'll get back to you on that," it should be a red flag to you.
I am a solo attorney. I personally meet with you, prepare your case and accompany you to Bankruptcy Court.
I care about my clients. I take my profession seriously and I take your case seriously. I fully realize that your financial future is in my hands, and I will do the best job I can for you, using the sum of my knowledge to maximize the benefits of bankruptcy.
What to look for in a bankruptcy attorney.
1. Do not make a decision based on fees alone. You will find, in looking for an attorney, that some attorneys seem to charge very low fees. Often times you get what you pay for.
2. I know of several attorneys in Northern Colorado who charge fees that are way above what is reasonable. One of them charges $2,500 for every Chapter 7 case. I don’t have any problem with saying that fees that are that high in many Chapter 7 cases is absolutely outrageous. I will guarantee you that you will be able to find excellent representation for less than that.
3. Don’t travel to Denver to find an attorney if you are from Northern Colorado. It is not worth your time or the extra money you will pay.
